bloop

a mistake.
The blooop series came to be from the pressure I felt to make "serious work." These forms emerge from my time in the studio as I combine wheel thrown parts. They are playful, loud and unapologetic. Leading my work into a totally different direction; using and exploring materials I wouldn’t have otherwise. After being fired in the kiln, this small sculpture is covered in rubber, creating the "oh please touch me" surface. It is further covered in a glossy, glittery pigment. Signed on the bottom. 5.5" in height.
